Lesson information:
As you read through the lesson information below, look out for these learning points:
- How we define Skills
- How Skills are directly related to Performance Tracking
- Tips for selecting Skills
Skills
→ A skill is a specific learnable ability required to perform certain tasks.
- “Learnable” is a key word here, as it differentiates a ‘skill’ from a ‘talent’, the latter being an innate ability.
Performance Tracking
→ Skills are used to track performance in Interactive Learning Conversations.
- In these conversations, learners are faced with a series of decisions, and skills and skill points are awarded based on the quality of the response a learner selects.
- Thus, performance is directly related to the demonstration of key learning points and their inherent skills.
Tips for Selecting Skills:
- Prioritize the skills that are required to fulfill the learning objectives and key learning points.
- Consider what soft skills enable learners to achieve the conversation goal.
- Focus on skills that are prevalent throughout a majority of the conversation.
- Though it is possible to track many skills, we suggest narrowing down your list to no more than 8.
