Lesson information:
As you watch the video, look out for these learning points:
- The structure of an Interactive Learning Conversation should compliment and be aligned with the Learning Objectives for the learning experience.
- What to consider to best design your Experience Structure
- An example Experience Structure
When designing an Experience Structure, several considerations come into play, such as:
Experience's Length
→ How long do we want the experience to be?
What is expected of the learner? Will the learner practice or be evaluated on skills?
→ Are we expecting learners to learn the content within the experience?…
- …Or to practice skills learned outside of the VR experience?
- …Or, is this experience meant to act as an action-based assessment for skills learned outside of the experience?
Answers to these questions will help you identify → what the structure of your module should be and how many conversations it should include!
In the given example:
→ the Learning Objectives are for learners to identify customer needs and recommend solutions that complement the customer's lifestyle.
To create a comprehensive experience aligned with these objectives, the following structure can be employed:
- Lesson 1: Learners engage in a role-play exercise with a coach, practicing strategic and probing questions in a customer service conversation.
- Lesson 2: Another role-play exercise focused on consultative selling and recommending customer solutions based on their lifestyle.
- Practice Scenario: Learners have a full-length conversation to inquire about a customer's needs and recommend personalized solutions. They receive formative feedback based on their performance.
- Assessment Scenario: After practicing, learners participate in a full-length conversation to inquire about customer needs and recommend personalized solutions. They are then assessed on their performance.
